How It Works & Best Practices

Understand how to get the best results from domyassessment.ai by providing the right information and utilizing its powerful features.

Overview: The AI Process

Our tool uses an advanced, multi-agent AI system. First, AI Agent 1 analyzes your provided materials to create a detailed, editable Assessment Plan (Step 1). Next, AI Agent 2 uses this plan and its powerful web search capabilities to construct a sophisticated, deeply-researched draft (Step 2). Finally, an optional Step 3 allows AI Agent 3 to perform a master-level refinement of this draft, focusing on meticulous word count adherence, source augmentation, and incorporating any final user instructions.

Step 1: Providing Your Details
The quality of the AI's output heavily depends on the comprehensive and accurate information you provide in this step.

1. Task Sheet (Required)

This is the most crucial document. It should clearly state the assessment question(s), required word count, due date, and any specific formatting or structural requirements. You can upload a file (PDF, DOCX, TXT), paste text directly, or drag and drop your file. The more detail, the better.

2. Additional Material (Highly Recommended)

Upload lecture slides, class notes, readings, PowerPoints, or any relevant homework. You can upload multiple files (PDF, DOCX, TXT, common image types) or paste text. These provide essential context, key concepts, theories, and often the specific sources the AI should reference. This is VITAL for aligning the output with your course content and ensuring uniqueness.

3. Rubric / Criteria / Marking Guide (Recommended)

Providing the marking guide (via file upload, text paste, or drag-and-drop) helps the AI understand how your assessment will be graded, allowing it to focus on areas that carry more weight.

4. Past Work (Optional)

If you want the AI to try and match your writing style, upload samples of your previous work (multiple files or pasted text). The AI will analyze its tone, structure, vocabulary, and even subtle writing quirks.

5. Specific Instructions (Optional)

Use this text field for any specific requests, points to emphasize, arguments to make, or things to avoid (e.g., "Focus on the impact of X on Y," or "Please argue from a Z perspective."). While primarily text-based, you can also upload a file if your instructions are extensive.

6. Preferred Citation Style (Important)

Select your required citation style from the dropdown menu (e.g., APA 7th, MLA 9th, Harvard, Chicago). If you're unsure or it's not listed, choose "Derive from attached files." The AI will then attempt to identify the style from your Task Sheet or Rubric. This selection is crucial for proper referencing in the final output.

Input Methods & Supported Files

For most inputs, you can choose to upload files, paste text directly, or drag and drop files into the upload area. The total combined size of all uploaded files must not exceed 30MB.

Supported file types for content extraction: PDF (including image-based PDFs via OCR), DOCX, TXT. Common image types (JPG, PNG, WEBP) can also be uploaded and will be compressed. For other types, please convert or paste text.

Step 1 Output: The Editable Assessment Plan

After processing your inputs, AI Agent 1 will produce an "Assessment Plan." This plan outlines:

  • Its understanding of the task.
  • Key points extracted from your materials.
  • A proposed structure for the assessment.
  • Identified research questions or topics (if applicable).
  • Notes on writing style (if past work was provided).
  • Target word count and other constraints.
  • The selected or derived citation style.

Crucially, this plan is presented in an editable text area. Review it carefully. You can modify, add, or remove parts of the plan to better guide AI Agent 2. If you make changes and want to revert, a "Reset" button is available.

A well-refined plan at this stage significantly improves the quality of the final assessment.

Step 2: Generating the Initial Assessment Draft

Once you're satisfied with the (potentially edited) Assessment Plan from Step 1, click "Do My Assessment - Step 2." AI Agent 2 will use this plan to construct a sophisticated, deeply-researched draft of the full assessment content.

Powerful Web Search Capability

AI Agent 2 leverages its advanced web search to find additional credible sources, verify information, and gather more details to enhance the assessment's depth and credibility.

The AI will attempt to meet the specified word count, follow the structure, incorporate key concepts from your materials and its research, and adhere to any specific instructions outlined in the plan. This draft can then be further refined in Step 3 if desired.

Step 3: Master-Level Refinement (Optional)

After AI Agent 2 generates the initial draft, you have the option to proceed to Step 3 for a final, master-level refinement. Click "Do My Assessment - Step 3" to engage AI Agent 3.

In this step, you can provide:

  • New Specific Instructions: Guide Agent 3 on particular areas to improve, expand, or modify.
  • Additional Documents: Upload any further materials that might be relevant for the refinement.

AI Agent 3 will then iteratively work on the draft from Step 2, focusing on:

  • Meticulous Word Count Adherence: Agent 3 is under strict instructions to meet the target word count, aiming for the exact limit or the upper end of a specified range by adding substantive content.
  • Source Augmentation: Researching and integrating new, credible sources (with citations) to support claims or add depth.
  • Content Enhancement: Augmenting the existing content, improving clarity, and ensuring all aspects of the plan and your new instructions are met.
  • Maintaining Style: Preserving the writing style and uniqueness established in the previous steps.

This step is designed to produce a highly polished final piece that closely aligns with all your requirements, especially regarding word count and depth of content.

Achieving Uniqueness & Originality

Our v1.0 AI engine is specifically designed to promote unique outputs. It tracks recently generated content and topics to avoid repetition. The AI is also instructed to:

  • Propose distinct research angles.
  • Avoid generic or commonly chosen topics.
  • Use unique examples and case studies (especially from your provided materials and its web searches).
  • Vary writing style and structural approaches.

However, the best way to ensure originality is to provide comprehensive and specific "Additional Material" and clear "Specific Instructions" that guide the AI towards your course's unique content and your desired approach.

Tips for Best Results
  • Be Specific: Vague instructions lead to generic outputs. The more detail you provide, the better the AI can tailor the response.
  • Prioritize "Additional Material": This is your best tool for guiding the AI. Lecture notes, required readings, and specific case studies from your course are invaluable.
  • Utilize the 30MB File Limit: Don't hesitate to provide extensive materials. The more context the AI has, the better the result.
  • Clear Rubric: A detailed marking guide helps the AI focus on what's important for getting a good grade.
  • Utilize the Editable Plan: Take the time to review and refine the Assessment Plan from Step 1. Your edits directly influence the final output.
  • Select Your Citation Style: Explicitly choose your required citation style for accurate referencing.
  • Review and Edit: Always review the final output. While the AI is powerful, it's a tool to assist you. You may need to make edits, add personal insights, or refine the language.
Important Considerations
  • Word Count Adherence: Both AI Agent 2 (for the initial draft) and AI Agent 3 (for final refinement) are under very strict instructions to meet the specified word count. This means aiming for the exact target, the upper end of a provided range, or getting as close as possible to a word limit (typically no more than 50-100 words below). The AI agents achieve this by adding substantive, relevant content, not filler, and will use web search extensively. They are explicitly instructed not to misrepresent the achieved word count. In the rare event that an agent, despite all efforts, cannot meet the word count with quality content, it will append a "Detailed Word Count Shortfall Report" to its output. This report will state the target and actual word counts, explain in detail why the target couldn't be met, and provide specific, actionable suggestions for how the user or a subsequent AI agent could add the remaining content. This report is a last resort, as the primary directive is to meet the word count.
  • Referencing & Citations

The AI will attempt to provide in-text citations and a reference list based on the selected or derived citation style. It will prioritize citable sources from your "Additional Material" and its web searches. Always verify the accuracy, completeness, and formatting of all references.

  • Ethical Use: This tool is designed to assist and guide you, not to replace your learning or critical thinking. Use it responsibly as a way to understand concepts, structure arguments, and overcome writer's block.
